Delightful

We are halfway through April and I would be remiss not to recommend this book during its namesake month.
The Enchanted April, written by Elizabeth Von Arnim, is a delightful read about four women who go off to rent a home in Italy for a month’s retreat. They do not know each other, nor have a desire to know one another. Each is seeking solitude and respite in her own way. Their change of heart and sudden turn of events are assumed to be due to the heavenly qualities of their garden of Eden. I did not find the descriptions of the flowers and premises tiring, but rather invigorating and inspiring! I want to grow those types of flowers! 😊 A surprising end makes it a book well-worth reading.
If you’re excited about spring, in a gardening mood or need a break from your latest thriller, this little classic is for you!
