So many words…

So little space.

This book. Apparently, I may have a penchant for YA because here’s the third that I am telling you is a must-read.

Oh my. It’s sweet and tragic and perfectly “lovely” just like @read.fine.print said it was.

Not too tragic for younger readers and not too sweet for my adventure-loving boys, it’s rousing, gentle and brave all at once.

A Place to Hang the Moon is the tale of three orphaned siblings who are sent off to live in the English countryside during WW2. With just enough echos of Pevensie children to charm, these bookish children are looking for a family. Someone who thinks so highly, so adoringly of them, that they are sure they could hang the moon up among the stars.

I borrowed my copy from the library, but I will be purchasing this beautiful story to have on my shelf. It is one I want all of my children to read and my friends too. That’s rare in a book, but Kate Albus has done it.

Have you read this yet? And do you have a comfort read you go back to over and over? How about a comfort author?
